This is the second year of this wonderful event and promises to be bigger and better than ever.. Whilst not a club event many of our wargames club members donate their time to making it a success. Including Barrie as a great Sir Winston Churchill.
So What Is Llancaiach Fawr Manor At War?
This will be a WW2 re-enactment and living history event to take place at Llancaiach Fawr Manor house and grounds, troops represented will be British,American,French resistance and German. The main reenactment group attending will be WW2LHA.with support from a German field dressing station,American medic team (front line) and Volkssterm 3.
It will be a post D-Day event set in August 1944 just before the Failase pocket was closed.
The grounds will be divided between the home front and the battle for France,so home front reenactors are very welcome (civilians, home guard etc.)
“Just come back from the event and I’d just like to say what a great day out it was. Congratulations to all involved and well done to the organisers for putting on such a great show!
Something For Everyone
There will be a large and lively vintage trader fair. This will even include a 1940`s hairdresser. Ladies can have their hair and make up done 1940`s style.
We hope that Prime Minister Churchill will be with us for the weekend and I understand the black market maybe very active. Our local 1940`s bobbie maybe looking for help.
The Manor house itself will become a German occupied French chateau set in August 1944.
Entertainment will be provided as well by the fantastic “Ricky Hunter” vocalist and trumpet player.
